
The 6th annual RAD takes place on March 31st. CFR members will eagerly volunteer, impacting three counties, in one-day dedicated to supporting and creating more sustainable communities. Join us as we work together with our neighbors and community partners in offering intentional impact where it matters most; at home.
Help us lay down the ground work and prepare the Urban Farm for REALTOR® Action Day the following week. This prep work will include landscaping, fencing removal, and markings for installations on the day of RAD. All tools, as well as water and lunch will be provided.

Bobby Jean's Kids Organize, pack and load bags of “love” for children in the foster care systems of New Hanover County, Pender County, and Brunswick County. Volunteers will provide essentials for 600 children in transitional housing. All bags will be packed within the Terraces locations with local officials arriving to pick up and transport bags to their respective counties.

WARM 1 Volunteers will provide emergency repairs to a resident of New Hanover County facilitated by Wilmington Area Rebuilding Ministry (W.A.R.M.) Scope of work is dependent on the immediate needs of the homeowner to ensure a safer, healthier home for them to live. Exact work and location will be released closer to our RAD date to protect the privacy of the homeowner.

Brigade Boys & Girls Club Volunteer will tour the facility which provides 2,200 children with life-changing programming through 12 sites in New Hanover, Onslow and Pender County. Their afterschool care and summer camp programming are rooted in a six core program areas: Character and Leadership Development, Education, Career Development, Health and Life Skills, the Arts, and Sports and Recreation. REALTOR® Action Day volunteers will provide much needed updates to the Carl B. Youth Center at the New Hanover club located on Vance Street.

WB Sea Oats & Dune Fencing Help protect our beautiful beaches by planting thousands of Sea Oats in our most vulnerable areas. Wrightsville Beach relies on these small plants with complex root systems to establish and maintain dunes as protection from hurricanes, winds, and high tides. Volunteers will plant sea oats and raise dune fencing. Exact Beach Access is subject to change and will be confirmed he week prior to RAD.

WB Gardens This little oasis greets all visitors as they approach Wrightsville Beach. In preparation for Azalea Festival, volunteers will assist with mulching, planting, and installation of Azalea Festival features as one of the stops on the garden tour. The Harbor Island Garden Club will support and direct this therapeutic work in the fully bloomed gardens.

30th Street Placemaking Home to one of the very few open lots in Wilmington, this 2.0-acre lot is owned by a neighborhood church and will be activated with a Placemaking grant to create a welcoming, and safe common space for the community. Volunteers will team up to raise fencing, create a meditation garden and walking path, entrance and parking lot, and communal firepit. Additional projects may be added if time allows. This will be our largest, and most laborious project.

Fallen Soldier Memorial Beautification Support our local community partner, Step Up for Soldiers, by providing power washing, landscaping, and overall beautification to this memorial dedicated in 2008. The Fallen Soldier Memorial is dedicated to all members of the armed forces.
