NHRMC Partnership Exploration Presentation

NHRMC Partnership Exploration
Virtual Presentation

New Hanover County and New Hanover Regional Medical Center are exploring whether a new partner could help the healthcare system better meet the needs of our rapidly growing population. The potential infusion of billions of dollars into the health system would mean more health services for area residents and jobs for the region. A sale could also bring more than a billion dollars to the county, which could be invested in local services without any additional tax burden for residents.

The citizen-led Partnership Advisory Group is evaluating proposals and has recommended three potential partners for further study: Atrium Health, Duke Health and Novant Health.

NHRMC President and CEO John Gizdic will present on what is being considered and why - and what it could mean for local healthcare and the long-term well being of our community.

Here’s your opportunity to learn more and dig deeper into the potential partners for New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Lunch and Learn - What Animal am I?

LUNCH & LEARN - What Animal am I?

Wednesday, January 31st from 11:30 to 1:00pm .  (LIMITED to 30 SEATS!)

Bring Your Computer, Tablet or Smart Phone

Join us for a fun-filled event to find out Your Animal Type.  This event was created after the success of the New York Times Bestseller "Surviving Your Serengeti: 7 Skills to Master Business and Life," by Stefan Swanepoel. This compelling fable is based on the survival skills of seven animals and how this wisdom can help us all maximize our strengths, overcome our weaknesses and better understand others. The seven skills are: the Enduring Wildebeest, Strategic Lion, Enterprising Crocodile, Efficient Cheetah, Graceful Giraffe, Risk-Taking Mongoose and Communicating Elephant.

All of us, irrespective of who we are, have innate skills that shape who we are and what we can achieve. Understanding yourself better, as well as those people around you, enables you to perform at a higher level. Similar to other skills based quizzes and personality tests; the “What Animal Am I?” quiz is a behavioral online assessment. There are no right or wrong answers. The quiz merely measures your strengths (we call it your instinctive survival skill) so that you can maximize your potential by improving your weaknesses and developing your strengths.  learn more >>

Alderman Elementary Rain Garden

Volunteers will help maintain rain gardens by removing invasive plants, pulling weeds, pruning trees and spreading mulch. The rain gardens and stormwater wetlands are projects implementing the Bradley and Hewletts Creeks Watershed Restoration Plan, which aims to reduce the amount of polluted runoff that makes its way into the creeks. Rain gardens and wetlands help filter polluted runoff, protecting water quality and preventing swim advisories and shellfish closures. Rain gardens and wetlands also help to reduce hazardous flooding and provide wildlife habitat.
