The Code the Law and You #2519

The Code, The Law, and You is a course which examines the REALTOR® Code of Ethics and Professional Standards.

REALTORS® are required to complete ethics training of not less than 2 hours, 30 minutes of instructional time within the two-year cycle. The training must meet specific learning objectives and criteria established by the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION of REALTORS®. This course fulfills that requirement, and it explains the areas where NC Law and NCREC Rules differ from the Code of Ethics. When do you obey each? This course answers that question and teaches REALTORS® how to properly apply the Code of Ethics to their practices.

Navigating the Transaction Minefield

Navigating the Transaction Minefield reviews the Realtor Code of Ethics and then presents a discussion of selected Commission rules. Afterwards, students are given two scenarios to read and discuss. The goal of the exercises is to enable students to identify possible violations of both the Code of Ethics and Commission rules, and to determine best practics to avoid such violations.

Discovering Commercial Real Estate

This course offers a broad overview of the basics of commercial real estate and how it differs from residential real estate. Students will be able to understand the broker's role and discover the different types of commercial properties, terms, valuation methods, marketing, and resources for further education. While it will not equip an agent with the needed tools to practice commercial real estate, it will explain the business and introduce many of the resources needed to pursue a commercial transaction or a career in commercial real estate. This is an ideal introductory course for those who are newly licensed and/or residential agents who want to learn more about commercial real estate.

Financing Dreams

It is easy for real estate agents to partner with the NC Housing Finance Agency and offer additional financing options for their clients. Our Financing Dreams class provides detailed training on how our mortgage products work, including buyer and property eligibility and the loan process. Upon completion of the four-hour course, you’ll earn CE toward your license (certified by the NC Real Estate Commission) and be listed as a preferred real estate agent on our website, not only increasing your visibility among potential buyers but enabling you to receive referrals directly from the NCHFA website.
Once you become a preferred agent, you’ll be better able to educate your clients about all the options available to them and help them purchase a home that meets their needs. Our loan process is simple and follows the same basic steps as any other FHA, VA, USDA or conventional loan. We offer a 60-day interest rate lock period for the loan to be processed, closed, approved, and purchased.

4-hour core credits towards your NC Workforce Housing Specialist certification or recertification; PLUS, 4 hours CE elective credit.

Members will complete the course will also be listed as a “Preferred Real Estate Agent” for the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency.
