Neal Johnson, CMCA, CNE, CRB, GRI
Wilmington has been my home for the last 28 years, and I have been in Real Estate since 1996. Over the duration of my career, I have been lucky enough to experience and be involved in many types of real estate transactions. From rental property management, home owner’s association management, residential sales representing buyers and sellers, and now I am highly focused on brokerage management as one of the owning partners of Network Real Estate. To me, Real Estate is not just about a closing. It is about helping people achieve the American Dream of home ownership and helping other REALTORS® develop successful careers.
Network Real Estate has provided me with many years of support and education that have lead me to this point in my career. In today’s changing real estate industry, it is critical to be knowledgeable in new technologies, financing regulations, and the entire process of a Real Estate transaction, from contract to closing. Network Real Estate strives to accomplish this for every agent, and I am so happy to a part of the firm.
I was born and raised in Roseboro, North Carolina and moved to Wilmington in 1989 to attend school. It was at school that I met my wife, Traci. Traci and I have been married for 21 years and have two beautiful daughters, Lexi (10) and Whitley (13). I attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and the University of Mount Olive and graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology. After working in retail management for several years, I decided that was not what my heart wanted to do, so I decided to join the family business in Real Estate. Network Real Estate was founded by Traci’s parents, Bob and Marilyn McKoy, in 1982. They were so welcoming and excited to have me join the family business. I currently serve as Vice-President of Management for the firm and enjoy the challenges this new position presents.
One of my passions regarding the Real Estate profession is education. I believe that a REALTOR® should never be satisfied with the baseline education requirements. Continuing Education is vital to stay informed and educated on the changes in Real Estate and to help yourself to be the most professional REALTOR® for your client. I believe all REALTORS® should strive to achieve additional designations, endeavoring to go over and beyond when it comes to education. I currently hold the Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA), Certified Negotiation Expert (CNE), Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager (CRB), and the Graduate REALTOR® Institute (GRI) designations. I have also served on the New Hanover County Tourism Development Authority Board of Directors and believe service to our community is imperative. I encourage every REALTOR® to participate on local boards.
My wife, Traci, is also a REALTOR® and works in the property management department at Network Real Estate. Both of our daughters are involved in extracurricular activities, and they keep us very busy. When we do have some free time, we enjoy going four wheeling, camping on the beach, traveling, and simply enjoying life. My family attends Port City Community Church and enjoy the services and fellowship we find there. Living in Wilmington is such a blessing, and I tell myself very often how lucky I am to live and work in such a beautiful region of my state. I am excited to serve my fellow Realtors® in 2017.
