WILMINGTON, N.C. (August 14, 2015) – The Wilmington Regional Association of Realtors (WRAR) is committed to working with local elected leadership to create an economic environment conducive to homeownership and the rights of property owners.
Last week, the Candidate Selection Task Force for the WRAR met to review dozens of local candidate questionnaires and conduct in-person interviews. Upon completion for this process, the Association asserts its support for the following candidates:
WILMINGTON, N.C. (August 28, 2015) - Through the Strong Neighbor Action Program (SNAP©), the Association is entering the final stretch prior to event day on Saturday, September 12th. On the 12th, dozens of homeowners, led by REALTORS®, will install community projects in three neighborhoods. “Earlier this year, the Association was awarded grants for Bayshore, Chestnut Heights, and Snow’s Cut neighborhoods,” said Bobby Jean Harvey, Community Affairs Committee Chair. “We surveyed neighbors and identified a short list of options for projects, and then met at a neighborhood meeting to make a decision.”
KURE BEACH, N.C. (July 15, 2015) – On April 1, 2015, the Kure Beach Planning & Zoning Commission attempted to pass a vacation rental ordinance (VRO), which would have created a separate registration and punitive program in place specifically for area rental units.
In concert with a host of REALTORS®, property managers, and citizens from our area, the Association successfully defeated the proposed VOR. The issue has not gone away, and legitimately there are issues of concern. Thus, the Association, working with locals, sent this letter to coastal property managers thereby addressing some the raised concerns, while allowing action to be voluntary.
