WILMINGTON, N.C. (January 13, 2015) – On the evening of Friday, January 9, 2015, the Wilmington Regional Association of Realtors (WRAR) installed Realtor Sherri Pickard of Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage as its 2015 President. Accompanying Pickard as this year’s leadership are Don Harris as President-Elect, Ryan Crecelius as Vice President, Jody Wainio as Past President and Elise Rocks as President of the Realtors Commercial Alliance of Southeastern North Carolina (RCASENC).
Also taking the oath to serve as a Director were veterans Clinton Howlett, Chris Livengood, Sherri Pridgen, Patrice Willetts, along with new Directors Shari Cutting, Debbie Lariviere, Jeff Lesley, and Lori Speight. Other Officers for the RCASENC include Hank Adams as President-Elect, Tyler Pegg as Secretary/Treasurer, and Steve Hall as Past President. The RCASENC Directors are P.J. Doherty, Eric Johnson, Henry Nadeau, Patrick Riley, Lon Edwards and Lee Weedle.
This business casual event was held at The Terraces on Sir Tyler, WRAR’s banquet and event venue, located on the third floor of its office at 1826 Sir Tyler Drive. The banquet is an annual event for all WRAR members to attend and featured an athletics and team theme this year to highlight Pickard’s experience as a former collegiate basketball and softball player and head coach. Her motto is “T.E.A.M.” which stands for Together Everyone Achieves More. Some of the other major highlights of the evening were the awarding of WRAR’s most prestigious annual awards.
Neal Johnson of Network Real Estate was honored as the 2014 Realtor of the Year. Neal earned this highest award because of his outstanding service to WRAR, his profession, the state and national associations and his local community. He is currently the Broker-in-Charge at Network’s Carolina Beach office and has served on WRAR’s Board of Directors while also being a graduate of the WRAR Leadership Academy. Neal is also involved in many community and industry related activities.
Joyce Barnwell of Intracoastal Realty was selected as the 2014 Salesperson of the Year due to her closed transactions and dollar volume, while also actively dedicating her time to the Association and local community. Joyce closed 26 transactions within the past year totaling over $8.6 million in sales volume, while exemplifying team spirit, leadership, loyalty and cooperation with peers.
Tom Spencer of Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage was selected as the 2014 Hall of Fame Award winner. Tom earned this award for his outstanding lifetime contributions to the real estate industry and his consistent outstanding service to the Realtor profession.
Will Leonard of Cape Fear Commercial, LLC was selected as the recipient of the Commercial Member of the Year Award. He earned this award for his high principles, attendance at local meetings and community involvement.
Herbert Fisher of Coastal Realty Co. was honored as the recipient of the Commercial Lifetime Achievement Award. Herbert earned this award due to his lifetime contributions to the commercial real estate industry, as well as his community involvement through countless organizations and his roles served in government.
In December 2014, WRAR also announced the recipients of its other annual awards at its fourth quarter membership meeting:

- Rebecca Lothe, Intracoastal Realty - 2014 Sally Noffsinger Scholarship Award
- Jimmy Hopkins, Intracoastal Realty - 2014 Cathy Clark Memorial Award
- Melanie Orlando Welsh, Envision Mortgage - 2014 Allied Member of the Year
